The Proto J6106A is a new, adjustable preset torque screwdriver with a 7–36 in/lb range, compliant with ANSI standard B107.14M, Type 3, Class A, Style 1 as stated on the included instruction sheet. The tool uses a slip-clutch mechanism that automatically releases drive when the preset torque is reached and auto-resets for the next application; torque is controlled clockwise only, as engraved on the butt cap, making it a unidirectional right-hand tool only. Setting is accomplished via a knurled adjusting sleeve with a primary scale and secondary scale combination (primary + secondary = torque setting), secured by a pull-down lock ring, and the 1/4 in hex drive accepts standard 1/4 in power bits. Overall length is 7-3/16 in, the body is anodized aluminum in red, and the tool ships with a hex socket adapter and protective plastic storage case; serial number 07250198 is stamped on the butt cap.
