This Putnam Tools EDP 97111 is a 5-flute cobalt roughing end mill with a knuckle (rippler) tooth form, marked 7/8 in cobalt, made in the USA, and labeled CB 7/8x3/4x1-7/8, which decodes to a 7/8 in cutter diameter, 3/4 in shank and 1-7/8 in length of cut. The shank is etched with a helix lead of 6.141 in. The knuckle-form serrated flutes break chips into small segments, which lowers cutting forces and allows heavy stock removal in steels and other general machining roughing operations on a milling machine. The tool is new and unused.
