Reiff & Nestor 45724 1/4-28 2FL H3 6" OAL Spiral Point Plug Tap

The Reiff & Nestor 45724 is a new 1/4-28 UNF spiral point (gun) plug tap with a 2-flute design, H3 pitch diameter tolerance, and a 6-inch overall length, manufactured in the USA at Reiff & Nestor Company, Lykens, PA. The spiral point geometry pushes chips ahead of the tap into the hole, making it suited for through-hole tapping applications where chip evacuation is critical. The black oxide finish (steam oxide treatment) visible in the photos reduces friction and provides modest corrosion resistance during storage and use. The H3 tolerance class indicates a pitch diameter oversize of +0.0005" to +0.0015", appropriate for standard 2B thread class fits in most engineering materials. The extended 6" overall length accommodates deep-reach or remote-access tapping setups not reachable with standard-length taps; the square shank end is compatible with standard tap wrenches and machine tap holders.
