This is a Ridgid 12-R die head for cutting 3/8 in NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads, confirmed by the "3/8 NPT HS/SS" label clearly visible on the die head body in the photos. The "HS/SS" designation indicates the die set is ground for use on High Speed (HS) steel pipe as well as Stainless Steel (SS), making it suitable for threading Schedule 40/80 carbon steel, stainless steel, and similar alloy pipe. The 12-R die head is compatible with Ridgid 12-R ratchet threaders, No. 00-R, No. 11-R, No. 30, No. 31, No. 111-R, No. 141, and No. 161 power threading machines that accept the 12-R head. The four-jaw die arrangement with the self-opening ratchet mechanism allows threading pipe to NPT taper specification (3/4 in taper per foot on the diameter) in a single pass. Listed as new — other condition, the head retains its original red-painted cast iron body and machined steel die carrier ring with no visible wear or damage to the cutting dies.
