The Riten Industries 71043 is a new dead center with a #4 Morse Taper (MT4) shank, used for supporting workpieces at the tailstock or headstock of a lathe without rotation. Dead centers are hardened steel and require the workpiece center to rotate on the stationary point, making them suited for rigid, high-precision turning, grinding setup, and between-centers work where a live center is not required or desired. The 60-degree included point angle is the industry standard for center drilling compatibility, and the MT4 shank provides positive drive and accurate repeatability in any machine spindle or tailstock with a #4 Morse Taper bore. Riten Industries, based in Columbus, OH, is a recognized manufacturer of precision workholding centers; this unit ships new in original Riten packaging with certification label visible on the box.
