The Sandvik Coromant 745R-2109E-M50 4230 is a new, indexable octagonal carbide milling insert designed for the CoroMill 745 face milling system. Decoding the MPN: "745R" identifies the CoroMill 745 right-hand insert family; "21" denotes the inscribed circle size (21 mm); "09" specifies the insert thickness (9 mm); "E" indicates the chipbreaker geometry (positive, light-cutting M50 geometry suited for general-purpose and finishing operations); "M50" is the Sandvik geometry designation optimized for medium to finishing cuts across P and K material groups (steels and cast irons); "4230" is the Sandvik carbide grade — a CVD-coated cemented carbide (MT-TiCN/Al₂O₃ multilayer coating) engineered for high wear resistance and thermal stability in milling of steel and cast iron.
