The Sandvik Coromant N123J2-0600-RM 3115 is a new, double-ended CoroCut 1-2 carbide grooving/parting insert designed for use in two-edge CoroCut toolholders with a J2 (2 mm) seat width. The MPN decodes as follows: N = neutral cutting geometry, 123 = CoroCut 1-2 system, J2 = 2-edge seat designation, 0600 = 6.00 mm cutting width, RM = medium chipbreaker geometry suited for a broad feed range on both steel and cast iron. Grade 3115 is a CVD-coated cemented carbide (Ti(C,N)/Al₂O₃ multilayer) optimized for steel (P) and cast iron (K) at moderate-to-high cutting speeds; the back label confirms use on K-material (245 HB) at vc 470 sfm (530–440) and P-material (175 HB) at vc 600 sfm (680–550). The insert length L1 is 25.01 mm as shown on the package label, and the box contains 10 inserts manufactured in Japan. Compatible toolholders include Sandvik CoroCut QD, QF, and RF series holders accepting the N123J2 seat.
