The Sandvik Coromant STGCR 12CA-16-M is a new CoroTurn 107 indexable turning toolholder designed for external longitudinal and facing operations, accepting TCGT/TCMT 16-series inserts (triangular, 7° clearance). Decoding the designation: S = shank style (square), T = insert shape (triangular/TCMT-TCGT), G = clearance angle (7°), C = clamping method (top clamp/screw-on), R = right-hand cutting direction, 12CA = 12 mm square shank with CA-style interface, 16 = insert size IC 9.525 mm (3/8 in), M = metric.
