Sandvik CXS-07T098-20-7240R 1025 Solid Carbide Boring Bar

This is a new Sandvik Coromant CXS-07T098-20-7240R in grade 1025, a solid carbide internal turning/boring bar from the CoroTurn XS system designed for small-part and Swiss-type lathe machining. The designation decodes as follows: CXS = CoroTurn XS solid carbide boring bar; 07 = 7 mm shank diameter; T098 = insert seat geometry (top clamp, 9.8 mm insert size reference); 20 = 20 mm minimum bore diameter; 72 = 72 mm usable/effective length; 40 = total length 40 mm (overhang class); R = right-hand cutting direction. Grade 1025 is a PVD TiN/TiAlN-family uncoated or lightly coated fine-grain carbide substrate optimized for finishing passes in steel and stainless steel at small diameters. The tool shank exhibits a gold TiN-series PVD coating on the shank body visible in the photos, with the cutting tip area uncoated, consistent with Sandvik's 1025 grade presentation for CoroTurn XS bars.
