The Sandvik Coromant LF123D15-1616B is a new, factory-sealed CoroCut 1-2 external grooving and parting toolholder designed for use with N123D2-series double-sided inserts (MIID N123D2), featuring a 16 mm × 16 mm square shank and a maximum cutting depth (CDX) of 15 mm. The "L" prefix denotes a left-hand cutting direction, "F" indicates the front-machining (radial grooving) style, and the "B" suffix confirms the standard overhang length for this shank class; the holder is hardened steel construction with a black oxide surface treatment for corrosion resistance. Insert clamping is achieved via a single Torx Plus IP20 screw (Sandvik p/n 5689 084-22, included in the package), providing secure, repeatable seating of the narrow-width CoroCut 1-2 inserts suited for grooving, parting-off, and face grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The holder is Made in Sweden and carries Sandvik Coromant Mtrl ID 5732625; it accepts inserts compatible with the N123D2 insert family at groove widths determined by the selected insert width.
