The Sandvik Coromant N151.2-300-7E 235 is a new, double-ended carbide grooving/parting insert from the T-Max Q-Cut system, designed for external grooving and parting-off operations on CNC lathes. The grade 235 is a CVD-coated cemented carbide (the gold TiN/TiCN/Al₂O₃ appearance is characteristic of this coating) optimized for ISO M (stainless steel/austenitic) and ISO P (carbon and alloy steel) materials. Cutting data stamped on the packaging confirms: for M-group (M1.0.Z.AQ, 200 HB) a feed of 0.08 mm/rev (0.003 in/rev) and cutting speed of 105 m/min (350 sfm); for P-group (P2.1.Z.AN, 175 HB) a feed of 0.08 mm/rev (0.003 in/rev) and cutting speed of 135 m/min (435 sfm). The insert designation decodes as: N = neutral/straight, 151.2 = T-Max Q-Cut grooving system family, 3.00 mm (0.118 in) cutting width, 7E chipbreaker geometry; it is compatible with Sandvik Coromant T-Max Q-Cut toolholders accepting the N151.2 insert seat.
