The Sandvik Coromant TNMG 160408-QM 1105 (ANSI: TNMG 332-QM) is a triangular, negative-rake, single-sided carbide turning insert from the T-Max P product line, supplied new in a factory-sealed 10-piece plastic tray. Grade 1105 is a PVD-coated (TiAlN-based black coating) fine-grain cemented carbide designed specifically for stainless steel (ISO S) and heat-resistant superalloys, offering excellent edge security at elevated temperatures. The QM chipbreaker geometry features a positive rake face with a reinforced edge, optimized for medium-condition turning of stainless steels and superalloys at depths of cut of 1–3.5 mm and feed rates of 0.15–0.25 mm/rev, with a recommended cutting speed of 75 m/min (245 SFM) for the primary application material (350 HB). This insert seats in any TNMG-compatible T-Max P toolholder with a 60° triangular pocket and a central clamping hole, compatible with Sandvik Coromant T-Max P holders in the PTGNR/L, DTGNR/L, and MTGNR/L style shanks.
