Sandvik WNMG 080412-WM 3225 CVD Carbide Turning Insert (10pc)

These are new Sandvik Coromant WNMG 080412-WM 3225 carbide turning inserts, sold as a full factory pack of 10, from the T-Max P product line designed for external turning of cast iron (ISO K material group). Decoding the ISO designation: W = 80° trigon (hexagonal) shape, N = 0° clearance angle, M = ±0.08mm / ±0.05mm tolerance class, G = with hole and chipbreaker, 08 = 12.7mm inscribed circle, 04 = 4.76mm thickness, 12 = 1.2mm nose radius, WM = medium-duty WM chipbreaker geometry optimized for medium-roughing to semi-finishing on cast iron. Grade 3225 is a CVD-coated cemented carbide (TiCN/Al₂O₃ multilayer coating, identifiable by the gold/bronze top face visible in photos) engineered specifically for cast iron machining, providing excellent wear resistance and thermal stability. Per the label, the recommended cutting parameters are: feed rate 0.5 mm/r (range 0.2–0.9 mm/r), cutting speed 170 m/min (range 225–130 m/min), and depth of cut 3.5 mm (range 0.8–6 mm) at a workpiece hardness of 245 HB (K2.2.C.UT material classification). These inserts are compatible with Sandvik Coromant PWLNR/L and DWLNR/L toolholders accepting WNMG 08 series inserts; MtrlID 6868481, made in Sweden.
