The Seco MCLNL-16-6D is a new, left-hand external turning toolholder designed for CNMG 432 (CNMG 12 04 08 metric) negative-rake inserts, decoded directly from the ISO designation: M = CNMG insert shape (80° rhombic), C = 7° clearance angle, L = left-hand cutting direction, N = neutral shank (square cross-section), L = left-hand insert clamping, 16 = 1 in × 1 in (25.4 mm × 25.4 mm) shank, 6 = 6 in (152.4 mm) overall length, D = CNMG 432 insert size. The body is constructed from hardened alloy steel with a black oxide finish and uses a top-clamp (pin-lock style) insert clamping system visible in the photos, providing rigid insert seating for heavy roughing and general turning operations. This holder is suited for OD turning on CNC lathes and manual engine lathes requiring a left-hand approach angle of 95°, compatible with Seco CNMG 432 series inserts including grades such as TP2501, TP3501, and TK1001.
