The Sowa Tool 119816 is a new 1-1/2-6 UNC spiral flute machine tap manufactured from HSSE-V3 (cobalt-vanadium high-speed steel, ~8% Co), providing superior heat resistance and wear life over standard HSS in steels, stainless steels, and tough alloys. The GH4 tolerance (H4 limit) designates a tightly controlled pitch diameter range of +0.0005 to +0.0020 in. above basic, producing 2B and 3B class-of-fit threads reliably in through-hole applications. The spiral flute geometry — confirmed on the label and clearly visible in the photos — evacuates chips upward out of the hole, making this tap especially suited for blind-hole tapping in ferrous and non-ferrous materials on CNC machining centers and rigid tapping machines. The black oxide surface treatment visible on the tool reduces friction and provides moderate corrosion resistance. The square-drive shank is compatible with standard 1-1/2 in. tap adapters and tension-compression holders.
