Sperian 968513 15 Min 5500 PSI Composite SCBA Air Cylinder

The Sperian 968513 is a new, 15-minute composite hoop-wrapped compressed air cylinder designed for use with Sperian supplied-air and SCBA respirator systems, specifically compatible with Sperian units P968455G and P968457G. The cylinder is manufactured by Luxfer (Luxfer part no. L24W-002) and bears DOT Special Permit 7235-3000 and TC-3HWM 207 ratings, authorizing a service pressure of 5,500 PSI (379 bar) for compressed air only; the hoop-wrap composite construction uses an aluminum liner overwrapped with fiberglass, providing a significant weight savings over all-steel cylinders of comparable volume. The cylinder valve assembly includes an integrated side-mounted pressure indicator with a color-coded gauge (green/yellow/red zones) visible in the photos, and features a standard high-pressure male outlet connection; a safety burst disc is incorporated per DOT requirements. Rated for a 15-minute rated service duration, this cylinder must be filled with compressed breathing air only and is subject to DOT/TC hydrostatic retest requirements per the markings; retest burette size is 25 cc minimum. This unit is new and was shipped in its original OEM carton labeled UN 1002 Air, Compressed, Class 2.2 Non-Flammable Gas.
