This is a new SPI (Swiss Precision Instruments) double-ended thread plug gage, part number 34-387-1, designed to inspect 3/8-16 UNC (Unified National Coarse) internal threads to Class 2B tolerance per ASME B1.2 standards. The gage features a GO member on one end and a NOT GO member on the other end, both mounted in a knurled, reversible handle with a black anodized aluminum body for easy identification and handling. The GO member verifies that the thread falls within the minimum material condition (maximum minor diameter), while the NOT GO member confirms the thread does not exceed the maximum material condition, ensuring functional assembly compatibility. This gage is suitable for production floor inspection, incoming quality control, and machining verification of 3/8-16 UNC tapped holes in any material. The plug members are ground and lapped tool steel, marked with the thread designation and GO/NOT GO identification on both the handle and individual members.
