The SPI 98-340-3 Zero-Setter is a new CNC tool length setting system consisting of a precision-ground 1.0000" overall height (OAH) setting gauge body and a matched SPI model 22-298-4 dial indicator with 0.0005" graduation, 0-0.25" range, and a balanced 0-25 dial face. The Zero-Setter body features a spring-loaded, hardened contact button atop a knurled cylindrical housing with a nominal 1.4500" OAW, allowing the spindle to depress the plunger to the exact 1.0000" reference height so the operator can zero the indicator and establish repeatable Z-axis offsets without a test cut. Accuracy is rated at 0.0004" with 0.0004" repeatability, making this system suitable for CNC machining centers, knee mills, and any vertical spindle machine requiring quick, consistent tool length offsets between tool changes. The set ships in a fitted hardwood storage case that houses both the indicator and the Zero-Setter body in precisely routed cavities for protection and organization.
