The Stafford Special Tool KPLX128 is a new, single-piece Hi-Cobalt steel knurling wheel ground to a 128 diametral pitch (DP) left-hand diagonal pattern, stamped "KPL·X128 FORM" on the face. Dimensions are 3/4 in. O.D. × 3/8 in. wide × 1/4 in. bore, conforming to the standard single-knurl wheel geometry used in bump and scissor-type knurling tool holders that accept 1/4 in. bore wheels. Hi-Cobalt construction (M42-grade equivalent high-speed steel) provides superior wear resistance and hardness retention compared to standard HSS, making this wheel suitable for knurling carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel workpieces on engine lathes and CNC turning centers. The left-hand helix produces a diagonal pattern that feeds into the work from the operator side; when paired with a matched right-hand wheel (KPR series), a diamond knurl pattern is generated.
