The Starrett No. 25-511J is a new, jeweled continuous-reading dial drop indicator with a 0–0.200 in. measuring range and 0.0001 in. graduation, reading in a 0-5-0 balanced (bidirectional) format on a white dial face — all of which are confirmed directly from the face markings and box label visible in the photos. The "J" suffix in the part number designates jeweled bearings in the movement, which reduces friction, extends service life, and improves repeatability compared to non-jeweled versions; the "511" suffix designates a lug-on-back mounting configuration and the 2-3/8 in. (No. 25-series) dial diameter.
