Starrett 3805D Shore D Digital Durometer Hardness Tester

The Starrett 3805D is a new digital Shore D durometer designed to measure the hardness of harder polymers, hard rubber, rigid plastics, and similar semi-rigid to rigid materials per ASTM D2240 Type D methodology. The instrument features a truncated cone indenter (30° cone with flat tip) driven by a calibrated spring force of 44.5 N (10 lbf), an LCD digital display, and three front-panel controls — H (hold), OFF/ON, and ZERO — for straightforward one-handed operation. Measurement range is 0–100 Shore D with 0.5-point resolution, and the hold function captures peak readings for accurate single-person testing on production floors or lab environments.
