Starrett 98-12 2 Vial 12 in Machinist Level

The Starrett No. 98-12 is a new machinist's precision level with a 12-inch ground and graduated cast-iron base, designed for leveling machine tools, surface plates, lathes, mills, and other precision equipment. The vial sensitivity is 0.005 in/ft (0.42 mm/m), allowing detection of very slight inclinations across the full 12-inch base length. The main vial is mounted in a protected window with red reference lines for accurate centering, and the knurled center grip allows secure, comfortable handling during placement and reading. The hardened and ground base mates directly to machined surfaces or T-slots, and the level reads in both horizontal and 45° positions per the No. 98 series design. EDP No. 50443 is confirmed on the box label; the tool is Made in China under the Starrett brand.
