The Sumitomo CNMG120408N-SEW (ANSI: CNMG432ESEW) is a new, factory-inspected 80° diamond-shaped (C) negative rake carbide turning insert in grade AC810P, featuring Sumitomo's multi-layer CVD TiCN/Al2O3/TiN coating optimized for continuous and light interrupted turning of steels (ISO P application class). The SEW chipbreaker geometry is a finish-cut (F) design rated for feed rates of 0.004–0.028 IPR (0.1–0.7 mm/rev) and cutting speeds of 886–1411 SFM (270–430 m/min), making it well-suited for smooth, close-tolerance finishing passes on carbon and alloy steels. Insert dimensions per ISO CNMG120408: 12.7 mm (½ in) inscribed circle, 4.76 mm thickness, 0.8 mm nose radius, 7° clearance angle, M-tolerance class, with a central 40° countersunk hole for screw clamping in standard CNMG-style toolholders. Each box contains 10 inserts, made in Japan and individually inspected by Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal.
