Decoding the ISO designation: C = 80° rhombic (diamond) shape, N = 0° clearance angle (negative rake), M = ±0.05mm/±0.08mm tolerance class, G = screw-clamped with chipbreaker, 12 = 12.7mm inscribed circle (IC), 04 = 4.76mm thickness, 08 = 0.8mm nose radius; the ESEW suffix denotes Sumitomo's wiper-geometry chipbreaker optimized for finish turning.
