The Sumitomo Electric DNMG432EGZ (ISO: DNMG150408N-GZ) is a new, double-sided negative-rake 55° diamond (D) carbide turning insert in grade AC405K, a CVD multi-layer TiCN/Al₂O₃/TiN-coated cermet-based carbide grade optimized for medium turning of cast iron (ISO K) and stainless/general steel (ISO M) at cutting speeds of 200–310 m/min (650–1010 SFM) and feed rates of 0.1–0.5 mm/rev. Per the ISO designation, the insert is 15.875 mm (5/8 in) inscribed circle, 4.76 mm thick, with a 0.8 mm nose radius, a 7° clearance angle (N), medium (M) chipbreaker geometry (EGZ — Sumitomo's EGZ chipbreaker designed for medium interrupted and continuous cuts), and a cylindrical through-hole (G hole) for screw clamping. The dark PVD/CVD black topcoat with gold TiN inner layer is clearly visible in the photos, consistent with AC405K's published appearance. Compatible toolholders follow the DDJN/DDNN/PDDN turning holder families accepting 55° diamond inserts with screw-lock (hole-type) clamping; the box label confirms a 10-piece factory pack made in Japan.
