Sumitomo SMDT2070MTL ACX70 SEC-Multi Drill Tip Insert

This is a new Sumitomo Electric SMDT2070MTL indexable carbide drill tip insert in ACX70 grade, designed for use in the SEC-Multi Drill modular drilling system. The part number decodes as follows: SMDT = SEC-Multi Drill Tip, 2070 = 20.70 mm diameter range compatibility, MTL = tip geometry/chipbreaker designation for steel and general-purpose cutting. ACX70 is a PVD-coated cemented carbide grade featuring Sumitomo's proprietary multi-layer coating, engineered for high-speed drilling of carbon steels, alloy steels, and cast iron with excellent wear resistance and fracture toughness. The insert features a self-centering point geometry with internal coolant ports visible in the photos, optimized for through-coolant delivery to evacuate chips effectively in deep-hole and high-feed drilling applications. This tip insert mounts into the corresponding SEC-Multi Drill body holder and is inspected new in original Sumitomo packaging with lot number W40094908.
