Sumitomo VCMT160404N-LU AC8025P Carbide Turning Insert (10pc)

This is a factory-new box of 10 Sumitomo Electric VCMT160404N-LU carbide turning inserts in grade AC8025P, also identified by the inch designation VCMT331ELU. Decoding the ISO designation: V = 35° diamond (rhombic) shape, C = 7° clearance angle, M = ±0.08mm / ±0.05mm tolerance class, T = with hole and top chipbreaker, 16 = 16mm inscribed circle (IC), 04 = 4.76mm thickness, 04 = 0.4mm nose radius, N-LU = Sumitomo's LU positive chipbreaker geometry rated for Finish (F) cuts. Grade AC8025P is a PVD-coated cemented carbide engineered for P and M material groups (steels and stainless steels), featuring Sumitomo's ABSOTECH PLUS multi-layer PVD coating (visible as the dark surface on the insert) for outstanding wear resistance and edge toughness in light finishing operations. Recommended cutting conditions per the label are Vc 200–340 m/min (656–1115 SFM) and feed 0.05–0.25 mm/rev (0.002–0.010 IPR). These inserts seat in standard VCMT-style toolholders with a 35° diamond pocket and are compatible with Sumitomo SVJCR/L and equivalent third-party toolholders. Made in Japan; TEM 08536.
