The Titan USA TT90289S is a new #12-24 UNC plug-style hand/machine tap manufactured in the USA from high-speed steel (HSS) with a steam oxide finish, which provides enhanced lubricity and corrosion resistance compared to bright finish taps. It features 4 straight flutes, an H3 pitch diameter tolerance class (0.0005–0.0010 in. over basic), a thread length of 15/16 in., and an overall length of 2-3/8 in. — all confirmed directly from the label. The plug chamfer (3–5 thread lead) makes it suitable for both through-hole and blind-hole threading where sufficient chip clearance exists, and the 4-flute geometry provides rigidity for use in tapping machines, CNC machining centers, or hand tapping of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The H3 tolerance is compatible with standard 2B thread class fits in steels, cast iron, and aluminum.
