The Tool-Flo 16ER8UN AC22A is a new, indexable carbide external threading insert designed to cut Unified National (UN) thread forms at 8 threads per inch (TPI), in Grade AC22 — a PVD-coated submicron carbide grade engineered by IMC Group (Iscar family) for threading steel, stainless steel, and other difficult-to-machine materials. Decoding the MPN: "16" = 16 mm inscribed circle (IC) triangular insert; "E" = external threading; "R" = right-hand cutting direction; "8" = 8 TPI pitch; "UN" = Unified National thread form; "AC22A" designates the carbide grade and coating. The insert features a 60° thread form profile consistent with UN/UNC/UNF standards, fits standard ER/16 external threading toolholders with a 16 mm IC triangular seat, and is sold in the original factory-sealed cassette of 5 pieces made in Israel (dated 27/10/2022).
