The Tool Flo FLAS-3L16 AC50C is a new, USA-made full-profile laydown-style carbide threading insert designed for external threading on CNC lathes, ground to produce a 60° unified/metric thread form. The designation breaks down as follows: "FLAS" = Full-profile Laydown Acme-style (actually a 60° full-profile laydown insert), "3L" = left-hand cutting direction, "16" = 16 TPI thread pitch, and "AC50C" is Tool Flo's CVD-coated submicron carbide grade optimized for threading steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels at moderate-to-high cutting speeds. The AC50C grade features a TiCN/Al₂O₃ CVD multilayer coating that provides wear resistance and thermal barrier performance for extended tool life in production threading. Each box contains 5 inserts (lot number 553216LAC50C, made 08/16/23) and is compatible with Tool Flo laydown threading toolholders accepting the FLA/FLAS insert style. The insert stamp "AS 3L16 / 406" on the face confirms the 16 TPI pitch, left-hand orientation, and lot traceability.
