The Tungaloy DNMG150412-SM AH645 (ANSI: DNMG 433 SM) is a 55° diamond-shaped, double-sided negative-rake carbide turning insert with a central hole for screw clamping, manufactured in Japan to ISO tolerance class M. The AH645 grade is a PVD-coated cemented carbide engineered specifically for stainless steel (ISO M material group) machining, delivering excellent resistance to built-up edge, notch wear, and heat-induced deformation under the dark, low-friction PVD coating visible in the photos. The SM chipbreaker geometry is optimized for medium turning of stainless steel with a recommended feed range of 0.2–0.5 mm/rev (0.008–0.020 ipr) and cutting speed of 70–150 m/min (230–490 sfm), as confirmed on the package label. This insert mounts in standard DNMG-compatible toolholders (e.g., PDJN/PDNN series) with a 15 mm inscribed circle, 4.76 mm thickness, and 1.2 mm nose radius. Each factory-sealed package contains 10 new, unused inserts.
