Union Butterfield 1010116 9/16-18 H3 HSS Bottoming Hand Tap

This is a new Union Butterfield UB1500 series bottoming hand tap, part number 1010116, in 9/16-18 UNF thread form with an H3 tolerance limit. The bottoming style features 1–2 chamfer threads, allowing threading to within one to two pitches of the bottom of a blind hole — the final tap in a hand tapping sequence after taper and plug taps have been used. Constructed from high-speed steel (HSS), the tap has a 4-flute straight-flute geometry suited for general-purpose hand tapping in through and blind holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The square drive shank interfaces with standard tap wrenches sized for the 9/16 diameter class. This tap is NOS (new old stock) in its original Union Butterfield plastic case.
