Vermont Tap & Die 3105 7/16-20 UNF HS 4-Flute H5 Bottom Tap

This is a new Vermont Tap & Die catalog #3105 hand tap in 7/16-20 UNF, a bottom (plug-to-blind-hole finishing) style ground in high-speed steel (HS) with a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance and lubricity. The tap features 4 straight flutes and an H5 pitch diameter tolerance limit (+0.0005 to +0.0010 in. over basic PD), which positions it for threading close-tolerance holes in steels, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials where a tighter fit class is required. With its minimal chamfer (1–2 threads of taper), this bottom tap is designed to cut threads to the bottom of blind holes after a taper or plug tap has already established the thread. The square drive shank is compatible with standard tap wrenches and tapping attachments. Made in the USA, part number 306162 per the label.
