The Vernon GB-240 GRIT-BIT is a grinding wheel dressing tool consisting of a molded clear acrylic/polystyrene handle with an integrated magnifying lens at the top and a bonded abrasive dressing stone tip, sold new in its original cylindrical plastic tube with red cap. The "Rougher" designation (as shown on the red label) indicates this is the coarser-acting variant of the GRIT-BIT line, designed to aggressively open and true glazed or loaded grinding wheel faces by abrading the wheel surface to restore sharp, friable abrasive grain — as opposed to a finer finishing dresser. The dressing stone tip, visible as a dark rectangular abrasive block at the working end, is applied directly to the face of the grinding wheel while it runs; the magnifying lens in the handle allows the operator to closely observe the wheel surface condition during dressing. Vernon's GRIT-BIT dressers are suited for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders where conventional diamond or star-wheel dressers are unavailable, making this an economical, consumable dressing solution for shop maintenance. This unit is new and unused, still sealed in its original tube packaging.
