Walter CCGT09T301-FN2 WNN10 80° Diamond Carbide Turning Insert (10pc)

The Walter CCGT09T301-FN2 in grade WNN10 is a new, uncoated (bright/polished) CCGT-style 80° diamond-shaped carbide turning insert from Walter's SELECT program, manufactured in Germany. Decoding the ISO designation: C = 80° diamond shape, C = 7° clearance angle, G = ±0.025mm tolerance class (precision ground top and bottom), T = with hole and chipbreaker, 09T3 = 9.525mm (3/8 in) IC / 3.97mm thickness, 01 = 0.1mm nose radius, FN2 = Walter's fine-finishing chipbreaker geometry for non-ferrous materials. The WNN10 grade is an ultra-fine grain, uncoated (PVD-free) cemented carbide specifically engineered for finishing and semi-finishing of non-ferrous materials (ISO N — aluminum, copper alloys, plastics) and also rated for P and M steels at high cutting speeds; the double-dot rating on the N row of the application chart on the package label confirms primary non-ferrous application. The FN2 chipbreaker features a polished rake face that minimizes built-up edge and reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited for high-speed finishing passes on aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous workpieces in compatible SCLCR/SCLCL or similar C-style insert toolholders.
