The Walter GX16-1E200N10-RD4 is a solid carbide grooving/parting insert in the Walter Cut GX system, coated with Walter's Tiger-tec Silver CVD/PVD aluminum oxide-based coating in grade WSM33S — a universal medium-to-finish grade optimized for steel (P) and stainless steel (M) with secondary applicability in superalloys (S). The MPN decodes as follows: GX = Walter Cut GX system; 16 = 16 mm shank system; 1E = single-ended geometry; 200 = 2.00 mm groove width; N10 = neutral cutting edge, 10 mm depth of cut; RD4 = chipbreaker designation for medium finishing on steel and stainless. Grade WSM33S (Tiger-tec Silver) provides excellent wear resistance and toughness balance for interrupted cuts and finish grooving. Recommended cutting speeds are 80–190 m/min (270–640 sfm) for steel (P) and 90–160 m/min (280–520 sfm) for stainless (M); feed range is 0.08–0.25 mm/rev (0.003–0.010 in/rev) at depth of cut 0.2–1.0 mm (0.008–0.039 in). This insert is compatible with Walter Cut GX16 toolholders and is sold new as a 10-piece pack (EDP 6171941).
