The Walter TCMT16T308-FP4 WPP10G is a new, single-sided triangular carbide turning insert from Walter's "Walter Select" line, made in Germany and decoded per ISO standard as: T = triangular (60°) shape, C = 7° clearance angle, M = ±0.08mm tolerances on inscribed circle/thickness (medium tolerance), T = cylindrical hole with top and bottom countersink, 16 = 9.525mm (3/8 in) inscribed circle, T3 = 3.97mm thickness, 08 = 0.8mm nose radius, FP4 = medium-finishing/positive chipbreaker geometry for steel. The grade WPP10G is a CVD-coated (TiCN/Al₂O₃) carbide grade from Walter's WPP series optimized for the P (steel) ISO material group — WPP10G targets light to medium finishing cuts on carbon, alloy, and stainless steels, delivering excellent surface finish and long tool life under stable conditions. The gold-colored top face visible in the photo confirms CVD coating; the dark PVD-style flank treatment is consistent with Walter's G-grade post-coat treatment for reduced friction. This insert is compatible with STUCR/STUCL and MTUCR/MTUCL style toolholders accepting TCMT 16T3 inserts (e.g., Walter A2012H-STUCR11 boring bars and equivalent external turning holders).
