The Watts 1/2 LF009-QT-FS is a new, lead-free reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer with full-port quarter-turn ball valve shutoffs and a freeze-resistant bottom-seated relief valve design, assembled in the USA to ASSE 1013, AWWA C511, and CSA B64.4 standards. The body and wetted surfaces are lead-free bronze (less than 0.25% lead by weight per the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act), rated for 175 PSI maximum working pressure and up to 180°F, making it suitable for potable water, irrigation, and hydronic heating applications. The QT suffix denotes quarter-turn full-port ball valve shutoffs with green lever handles on both inlet and outlet, and the FS suffix designates the freeze-shield (bottom-outlet relief valve) configuration that helps reduce freeze damage in exposed installations. Four resilient-seated test cocks are included for field testing to USC FCCCHR and IAPMO listing requirements. The unit carries UL listing and is certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for contact with potable water.
