The Watts LF909-QT-FS is a new, lead-free reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly in 3/4 in pipe size, designed to provide the highest level of backflow protection for potable water systems per ASSE 1013 / AWWA C511 / CSA B64.4 standards. The assembly includes two resilient-seated shutoff ball valves with lever handles (QT suffix = quarter-turn ball valves), four test cocks, and an integral differential pressure relief valve that opens to atmosphere if the pressure differential between the two check valves drops to or below 2 psi, preventing back-siphonage and backpressure contamination. The LF (Lead-Free) designation confirms wetted surfaces contain ≤0.25% lead by weight, making it compliant with the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act and California Prop 65 requirements. The FS suffix denotes full-flow, stainless steel internal components. Typical applications include commercial and industrial potable water supply, irrigation systems, boiler make-up water, and fire protection connections requiring high-hazard backflow prevention. Assembled in the USA as indicated on the box label.
