This is a new Wedgwood "Bianca" pattern (pattern number R4499) bone china tea cup produced under the Colonial Williamsburg licensed collection, manufactured in England between 1973 and 1997. The cup is constructed from Wedgwood's fine English bone china body, featuring a hand-applied gold rim and gold-accented angular handle — each piece bearing an individual gilder's tally mark on the base, a quality-control signature unique to the artisan who applied the precious-metal gilding. The exterior decoration displays the Bianca pattern: a repeating pink latticework cartouche border at the rim, a central flower-basket motif with roses and mixed blooms, scattered pink cherry blossoms, and a double pink pinstripe band at the lower body, all rendered via underglaze lithographic transfer with hand-finished gilding. The backstamp reads "WEDGWOOD / Bone China / MADE IN ENGLAND / BIANCA / R4499 / Williamsburg" with the Wedgwood Portland Vase mark, confirming authenticity and English manufacture; individual production batch numbers (49, 50, 11 observed across pieces) appear alongside the gilder's tally. Capacity is 6 fluid ounces; the cup is sold without a saucer.
