This Westward 24D975 is a 33 lb (15 kg) spool of ER70S-6 solid carbon steel filler wire, 0.035 in (0.9 mm) in diameter, for gas metal arc (GMAW/MIG) welding and classified under AWS A5.18. ER70S-6 contains higher levels of manganese and silicon than other plain carbon steel wires, which improves puddle fluidity and bead appearance, reduces post-weld grinding, and allows good welds over dirty, oily, or rusty steel. It is copper-coated and wound on a plastic spool, and it requires a shielding gas. The box lists an operating range of 100-150 A for 0.035 in solid wire. This item is new in the original carton and was made in Vietnam.
