This Westward 31MA64 is a new annular cutter with a 1 in cutting diameter and a 2-1/4 in cutting depth, made from M2 high speed steel. The multi-flute spiral body with cutting teeth on the face cuts a ring-shaped slug rather than removing the full hole volume, which reduces cutting force and drilling time compared with a twist drill. The cylindrical shank is designed for use in magnetic drill presses with a compatible arbor or adapter, and the cutter is intended for drilling holes in steel and other metals. The cutter is uncoated and bright finished, as shown in the photos, and ships in its original protective plastic sleeve with the label.
