The XYZEdgeSensor 6500-2 is a new, 3-axis electronic edge finder designed for use in CNC machining centers, providing X, Y, and Z-axis workpiece datum setting in a single tool. For X and Y axes, the tool uses electrical contact between the probe tip and the conductive workpiece to signal exact contact; for the Z axis, a red LED illuminates to indicate a reference distance of 2 inches (50 mm) from the reference surface. The tool features a 3/4-inch (0.750 in) shank diameter for standard tool holder compatibility, a cylindrical contact probe tip, and delivers positioning accuracy of 0.0005 inches. The body is stainless steel construction with a spring-loaded lower section that separates at the flange upon contact, and the two side ports visible on the body house the LED indicators used for X/Y contact signaling.
