This is a new Yamawa PUUN6J1NEB spiral point (gun) tap designed specifically for cutting STI (Screw Thread Insert / HeliCoil-type) threads in a 6-32 UNC pattern, GH1 pitch diameter tolerance class. STI taps produce an oversized thread that accepts a helical wire insert, restoring the nominal thread size in the parent material — making them essential for repair work and insert installation in aluminum, cast iron, and steel.
