The YG-1 B2623 is a 9/16-18 UNF spiral flute bottom (plug) tap manufactured from HSSE-V3 (cobalt-enriched high-speed steel, ~8% Co, Vanadium grade 3) and finished with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating — the golden color visible on the flutes and chamfer confirms this. The GH3 tolerance class designates a ground thread limit of H3 (+0.0005 in to +0.0015 in oversize), making it suitable for threading tough, work-hardening alloys including stainless steels, titanium, heat-resistant superalloys, and hardened steels up to ~38 HRC. The spiral flute geometry — 3 flutes, modified bottom chamfer — pulls chips up and out of blind holes, making this tap the correct choice for bottom threading applications where through-chip evacuation is not possible. The modified (MODI) bottom chamfer provides approximately 1–2 thread lead for close-to-bottom threading, maximizing thread depth in blind bores. This tap is new, made in Korea, and compatible with standard 9/16 in tap holders, quick-change tapping chucks, and CNC tapping cycles requiring reversing spindle or rigid tapping.
